SAD FOR HIJAB WEARING SOCCER GIRL
I am sad for that girl, not because she was prevented from playing if she insisted on wearing the hijab, but because that hijab is now her prison. For the rest of her life she will be scrutinized and will not be able to make the slightest mistake. She built that cage around herself. The mother has nothing to be upset about, she cannot argue that they are a deeply religious family, when she herself was not even wearing the hijab during televised interviews. The rights insured by the charter have not been transgressed, she was not denied the right to join the Soccer club, she was not denied the right to play because she is muslim. That is what the charter guarantees. If she wants to belong to a club of any sort she has to abide by it's rules or stay home and cry racism. At 11 she might find it funny and bathing in all that attention she is getting gives her a high for sure, but she will have to now live it out to the fullest, poor girl.
